At age 11, Drew contracted a case of bacterial meningitis that left him in a coma. Three months later he emerged from his coma both blind and hearing-impaired. Despite these changes, Drew was determined to continue his life uninterrupted. In Summer 2019, Drew Hunthausen, a blind and partially deaf triathlete, participated in the Herbalife24 Triathlon Los Angeles. Winner of two golds at the District 15 Ad Awards including Best Branded Content Online. Winner of two gold awards at the Davey Awards including Best Non-Broadcast.
